A Country Girl
8-13 February 1926, Regents Theatre Chelmsford
Squire Challenor has spent his family fortune to reopen tin mines that surround his village in Devonshire. After his death, his son Geoffrey needs funds and leases his family manor house to the wealthy Sir Joseph Verity before heading off to sea leaving his childhood sweetheart Marjorie behind. When he returns five years later with the Rajah of Bhong and Princess Mehleaneh confusion and politics mix to provide a series of mishaps that look to keep Geoffrey and Marjorie apart.
