Fiddler on the Roof
26 – 31 March 1973, Civic Theatre Chelmsford
Tevye is the father of five daughters in Russia during the early 1900s. He must cope with the strong-willed actions of his older daughters – who wish to marry for love and each one’s choice is further from the customs of their faith – and the edict of the Tsar who is evicting Jews from their village. With his wife Golde they must try to do the best for their daughters and still follow their faith that is slowly being banished from the home they love.
