“Singin’ in the Rain” is set in America’s movieland of the late 1920s where the advent of talking pictures is causing many a silent film star a considerate amount of anxiety. When Don Lockwood’s realiss his co-star, Lina Lamont, will never make it in the talkies he comes up with the plan to have her dubbed by a young extra new to Hollywood, Kathy Selden. As Don, Kathy and Cosmmo work to save Lina’s career they discover that Kathy’s career can never take off in Lina’s shadow. Will done follow is heart to win the woman of his dreams or keep the act going to save his career. With wonderful songs made famous by Gene Kelly, and a very rainy end to Act One, you won’t want to miss this classic tale being brought to the Civic Theatre.
