The action takes place on the SS American sailing from New York to England. On board is the sexy, nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, with her Angels, looking for the person to win her heart. Also on board is the beautiful American heiresss, Hope Harcourt, her English finance, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, and Hope’s mother. Stowing away on board is Billy Crocker, a young admirer of Hope who can’t believe that she would really marry the silly Loard Oakleigh. He is determined to try and stop her. Public Enemy #13, with his moll, Erma, is also along for the ride and he passes to Billy the passport and ticket of a gangster friend who didn’t make the shop. Mistaken identities, disguises and disasters follow Billy as he tries to win his love – will he succeed before they reach port?
