The Pirates of Penzance
24 February – 1 March 1930, Regents Theatre Chelmsford
The classic operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan with pirates and police galore. On the coast of Cornwall the Pirate King is reminded by Frederic that his apprenticeship is almost finished as his twenty-first birthday is almost upon them. When he hears a beautiful group of girls singing he realises he must marry one of them and the youngest, Mabel, agrees.
